The Damp Proofing Association ( DPA) is the leading trade association representing remedial specialists across the UK who can be trusted to diagnose and resolve dampness and other technical issues or problems affecting buildings. The DPA is a non profit making organisation.
The DPA was established in 2012 for no financial gain, our education courses, membership fee's and indemnity Guarantees are offered at a reasonable cost . The Graduate Diploma in Remedial Treatments is a University endorsed two year course leading to the award of the Grad.Dip.RT.
This select qualification is equivalent to NVQ 4 level or HND/HNC the only academic qualification for the Property Care and Remedial industry and obtained after two years of extensive studies followed by three examinations and teaches analytical and a chemical approach to rising damp and condensation utilising chemical techniques to determine Chloride and Sulphate levels in substrates along with Calcium Carbide testing as standard on all Surveys. Thermal imaging techniques and air flow calculations form part of the curriculum. These important elements provide education for the remedial Surveyor who is encouraged to use these accurate determinations rather than an electronic moisture meter, which are totally inaccurate and provides for so much misdiagnosis common the in damp proofing industry. Our members are trained experts in dampness.
All DPA members have met and achieved strict membership criteria to demonstrate their technical competence and service standards having the ability to investigate all aspects of building defects and provide exact resolutions to the problems that may exist.
Only DPA Surveyors are technically qualified to undertake building Pathology Surveys and reports these cost £695.00 + VAT
